Medusa. Her true face.

The photo is very bad .
Some friends asked informations on Medusa. So...
The idea is that exceptional , breath-taking beauty, can be "inhuman"; can (especially when the beautifull person is conscient of his beauty) not only mesmerises but also scares and "Turns you to stone".
I used pensils and a sort of varnish. The paper is rough.
The eyes and the "bandages " (snake skin) evoke the myth of Medusa.

" i love how her head seems to be formed of these rose petals underneath from which pokes this wispy etherial hair. her soft green gaze is fascinating in the original meaning of that word: literally, it meant, to turn to stone. it is not necessarily a "human" stare, as you say, but it does invite a great deal of empathy. i also met someone yesterday who fits that description you were talking about, so this picture implores a lot of meaning for me."
